Oh Zoey!

Zoey always manages to make us laugh. She is so funny with the way she likes to just sit in things. I will see her trying to sit on top of all sorts of funny things. BUT, this time I just had to take a picture of her. We had just gotten home from Richfield and were trying to get things all put away when I came into the front room and there she was, sitting in a tupperware box. I don't even know how she fit in that little thing!! She is tricky!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to Richfield this weekend to visit Cory's parents, while we were there we took Zoey to the pumpkin patch. Unfortunately, we got there a little late, so it was dark outside. But, it was still fun for Zoey. She is a witch this year for Halloween, and she is a cute one. You can tell from these pics she played a witch very well. She managed not to smile much while we were there!
She absolutely would not keep her hat on. The guy at the pumpkin patch thought she was dressed up like a pumpkin! Now, I have never seen a black and orange pumpkin, come on, she totally looks like a witch to me. She would look better with the hat on though.
Here is a cute pic of her from the back. I wish I would have gotten a pic of her boots, they are perfect for her costume. So cute!
Behind Zoey is the "train" that they take everyone on to the pumkin patch. The pumkin patch was picked over, but we managed to find a perfect one just for Zoey. She liked the train ride the best. She loves to ride on things.
Here is a picture of only a small portion of the pumpkin patch. I imagine it was filled with pumpkins and very green at one point, too bad we didn't go at the first of the month. :( Oh well, there is always next year. We had a lot of fun there! : )

Heels

Lets just say that Zoey LOVES shoes, just like her dad. Go figure! Our friends, Rick and Jayne, were over to our house, and Zoey got a hold of Jayne's shoes. I am sure she thought they were lots more fun than any pair of my shoes. I don't have any shoes with heels on them, so she was pretty excited.
She had a hard time keeping them on, especially when she would try and push her baby in the stroller at the same time.

I cut her head off in this pic, but you can see the concentration in her face. She was so cute that night. Rick and Jayne are expecting one of their own, I wonder if that night made them wish they waited!!!

Happy Birthday Danae

Well, my birthday was actually almost 2 weeks ago and I am just getting to the pics. It was a wonderful birthday. Cory and I had a wonderful dinner alon, just the two of us, without Zoey, at the Texas Roadhouse. It was so good! I actually craved it a couple days later at like midnight. Anyway, after dinner we went to my mom's house to have some cake and icecream. My mom made a delicious cake and she got these really cool sparkler candles in the shape of 28. It was very nice! Here is the cake she made. Zoey loved the cherries the most. Don't you just love the sparklers?
Here is a picture of Zoey and I after the cake was done flaming. Lets just say she was not too fond of the sparklers. It really scared her. She is pretty much afraid of EVERYTHING! It is ridiculous, but cute at the same time.
Here is the gift that Zoey made for me. I love it! I think it is the cutest thing ever. So, I keep it on our end table so I can see it every day. Also, to remind me that in times that are tough with her, you know, when she is throwing tantrums or being really whiney, I can remember that she really is an angel and a little sweetheart!
And here is Cory and I. Do I look tired or what?!! I didn't even put make-up on that day. You can really tell. Well, either that or I really am just TIRED!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! It was a wonderful one.

Kitchen Sink

I was doing the dishes and Zoey always likes to sit on the side of the sink and "help" me. The next thing I know she had sat inside the sink with water and all. So, I took her diaper off and her shirt and let her have some fun. Above is Zoey saying, "CHEESE" for the camera. So cute!
The whole time she just kept saying bubbles!
So serious. It is a lot of work playing in the sink!
I think this is the best laughing picture we have of Zoey. I love it.
And.......another cheese picture to end the post.

The Kitchen Drawer

Zoey has always been interested in the kitchen drawer. She is very smart you know, she knows that is where we keep EVERYTHING she wants. i.e. the scissors, markers, pens, paper, etc. Well, just to let you know how smart and that she truly does know what is in there. She wanted an Otter Pop one day, so I got one out and then she dragged me to the drawer so I would get the scissors out to cut open her Otter Pop. That is just one example prooving she knows what is in there. WELL....the other day I walked in to the kitchen and she had taken the stool from the pantry, dragged it to the drawer, opened the drawer, and got out the scissors and some markers. Here in this photo is her trying to grab more interesting things! BOY, I wish I was entertained that easily. This just means we are really going to have to watch her close!

I finally did it!

Lets just say I am not the brightest person when it comes to the blog! Thanks to my friend Laura, I have figured out how to get music on this thing. She put it in her blog a while ago but it has taken me all this time to figure it out! Thanks Laura!

So, enjoy the music while you browse!

Hope this gets you in the Halloween spirit! (that is for Cory)

Bath Time

My mom has been watching Teagon (my brother's little boy) while his mom is getting settled in with the new baby, and we got to have him at our house for a couple days. Zoey has really enjoyed having him here, even though he tries to take all her toys! They actually played really good today and had lots of fun. I had to give Zoey a bath, and Teagon just insisted on getting in with her.
I love this cheesy grin she has on her face, this is what she does when she says "cheese" for the camera. You can see the excitement in her face. Although, I must say I was a little nervous at this point because Zoey has been pooping in the tub lately, and this is the position she has every time, squatting! Gratefully, she did not poop and the bath was a success.

Two NEW Cousins!

Wow.....we have two new cousins (neices for me and Cory) in the family! This week has been a crazy one for new little ones coming in to the family, on both sides. Two years ago in April, my brother and his wife, and Cory's sister and her husband had a baby boy 5 days apart. Does that make sense? Well, each of those families got pregnant again at the same time and both had little girls, 5 days apart again! It is crazy for us, but a lot of fun!!
Abby getting her shirt on.

Introducing little Abigail Valerie Garner (Cory's sister's baby), born on Oct. 1, 2007. She is really cute and it was fun to meet her. They live in Provo.

Here is Cory, Danae, Zoey, and little Abby.

Zoey was so excited to meet Abigail, she kept giving her little kisses and hugs, it was so cute. She kept saying, "Hi baby Abby."

Kamrie after getting the hospital picture taken

Introducing little Kamrie Michelle Jewkes, (my brother's baby), born on October 5, 2007. She is also very cute and lovable. We went to Price this weekend to meet her and it was worth the drive.

Danae, Zoey, and Kamrie

Zoey was very excited because she got to hold Kamrie. She kept rubbing her hair and saying, "hi baby." I think Zoey is very excited to have two little girl cousins. She will have lots of fun with them.

mmm...snack time

Zoey wanted a snack, so I walked with her over to the pantry where I asked her which snack she wanted. Our pantry is full of Zoey's favorite snacks and she wanted cereal. I told her to point to the one she wanted and she wanted all three! I thought it was pretty funny that she wanted to eat all three of them. The funny thing is that she really did! She would eat from one bag and move to the next one, then to the next one. She is a funny girl.
Notice the banana in the background, which she insisted on having earlier that morning, uneaten.
Just taking a breather, plus, the TV was very interesting at that moment. Her show was on!

Potty Time

Zoey loves her potty that Grandma got her. She saw Cory in the bathroom going potty and wanted to join him. I made sure he wasn't in any of the pics for your sake and his! It was so cute because she sat there reading her book while she went potty.
Here she is looking at Daddy, doing what he is doing.
"See my book Mommy!" When she saw Cory going to the bathroom, she said, "pee, pee." It is so crazy how she is growing up. She is copying so many words and phrases that we are saying. It is so cute! Now if she would just hurry this process along so we could stop changing diapers!

New House

Zoey has made herself at home. She already knows where everything is and just plays, plays, plays! These pics are of her playing in the magazine basket. She thought she was pretty funny. I was sitting on the other side of the couch and she kept popping her up saying, which sounded like, peek a boo!

It has been fun to be home with her. It is definately a lot harder, but really fun!

"pee pee"

Just a quick funny story. My mom has been telling me that she thinks Zoey is ready for the big potty training! I know, she is only 16 months old, but is ready. Anyway, I was in my bedroom and in comes Zoey holding her diaper.
I said, "Zoey, what are you doing?"
She said, "pee pee."
I then said, "Do you need to go pee pee?"
She then took my hand and went into the bathroom and hit the toilet, so I sat her on the toilet and she immediately started crying. (of course). Then she took my hand and pulled into her bedroom and she took her hand and patted the bed. I felt the bed and sure enough it was wet.
She then said, "pee pee."
I said, "yep, you went pee pee!"
She had taken her diaper off and then sat at the edge of her bed and went potty!
It was cute.

"Big Bed"

Zoey absolutely loves her big girl bed. She will run into her room and say, "big bed." When someone comes over she will take them in her room and show them. She is very funny. In fact, the other day I couldn't find her and when I walked in to her room, she was asleep on her bed. It was so nice! She was tired so decided to lay down! Now, if I can just get her to do that every time!

Her dad likes the big bed too!

BRIGHT?!

Well, I painted one wall in my kitchen yellow. You will either hate or love it. I haven't had anyone be in the middle on their input. I love it and I think it will look really good when
I get it decorated.
I also painted the one wall in our front room green, the previous owner already had it this color but because of his shadow boxes, I had to redo it. Yes, it is supposed to look uneven. It is a different type of paint, you will have to come see it for you yourself!

This is a picture of our street that we live on. So far everyone we have met has been really nice and friendly. We feel really good about our move and are excited to live here for a while. EVeryone has nice yards and really cares about their curb appeal.

Sanding

I stained out TV so that it would match our other furniture a little bitter and little Zoey, because she is so observant and wants to do everything I do, decided to help me out. It was so cute! I just had to get a pic of her. Lets just say she takes after her mom!

Breakfast for Grandpa

My mom and Kayli watched Zoey for me on Friday last week. It has been really crazy the last month with babysitters! Thanks to everyone that has helped us out with watching Zoey. Raquel, Janice, Alicia, Mom, Kayli and now Brooke (our bishop's daughter). Anyhow, last Friday while my mom and Kayli were watching Zoey, my mom had to make some breakfast for my dad before he went to work. Zoey, who loves to help out with everything, helped my mom make breakfast. Hmmm....do you think she could possibly fit that egg in her mouth?! She loves to help cook and the do chores! Lets just hope that she will continue liking this as she grows into the teen years!

Packing

We have been packing little by little for our move to Saratoga Springs and Zoey, our little helper, has been making sure she is right there for support. Our house is a complete disaster with stuff all over the place! I really don't like packing, especially with a 15 month old helping me! She was kinda a getting in the way so I sat her in this box to keep her in one place for a few minutes. I thought she would really enjoy it, but I think she was more confused than anything.
The next day I was going through Zoey's room and she was being so cute. She put on this necklace and was carrying her shoes around in this basket. She has been watching every little thing that I do.
While I was going through Zoey's room, I found the little hat they put on the newborns when they are first born. I put it on her to see if it would still fit her, and she kept it on for over an hour. She just walked around the house with the thing on, I don't even think she realized it was there. I showed herself to her in the mirror and she just kept saying, "Hi Baby!" She was being so funny.
