Cupcakes!

Last week I attempted to make some cupcakes with Zoey. ATTEMPTED. To make a long story short, Zoey wanted to crack the eggs and put them in the bowl. I told her no, not this time, and let her do the other ingredients. Well, I totally forgot to put the eggs in and mixed up the batter, made all the cupcakes and just could not figure out why they weren't working. Well, that happens when you don't put the eggs in!! So, I made another batch of cupcakes, with the eggs this time, and they turned out very yummy! Zoey especially like the batter, as you can see in the following pictures.

The whole time she was eating it, she just kept saying, "Yum, I like it mommy!!" I liked it too!

Fun in the Snow!

Cory was outside shoveling our backyard and Zoey insisted on going out and playing. So, I put her snow pants on her and away she went. She had so much fun. I wish I could be home with her everyday so I could play with her more outside.

She had fun and was not happy when it was time to come in. She is a funny girl. We should have made a snowman or something! Oh well, there is still plenty of snow, and who knows, it will probably snow again soon! Oh, and you will notice that her hair is really short. I cut it yesterday because I am trying to get it all the same length. As you all know, she has been known to have a she-mullet, so I am working on getting rid of that!

Discovery Gateway

This last week Zoey and I went to lunch with some friends, afterwards we decided to go to the Discovery Gateway at the Gateway Mall. Zoey had an absolute blast. She wanted nothing to do with me and entertained herself the entire time we were there. If you have never been there, I do suggest going at least once for your kids, it really is a fun place. Although, I must say the prices are flat out ridiculous. It was $8 for each of us to get in. Yes, that is right, I had to pay for myself to get in. As if I was going to play and enjoy all the things that they have there as my 1 1/2 year old. Oh well, it was fun for Zoey, and I had fun watching her explore.

Here she is playing the music instruments. She was so serious about it.
And this was Zoey's favorite part of Discovery Gateway, the water!
She enjoyed placing the balls in the tubes and watching
them go into the water below.

She must have played here for almost an hour.

It was nice to see her learn.

Discovery Gateway is a good place for your children to use their imaginations and explore. It really was fun, but I really don't think the parents should have to pay that much to get in. I can see for the kids, but not the parents. At least give us half off or something! Anyway, it was really fun, nonetheless.

Thank Goodness for Ultrasounds!

Well, this morning I had an ultrasound to know the EXACT due date of our baby. Well, my last menstrual period was off a little bit, the new baby is now due on SEPTEMBER 7, 2008. We are excited. I am glad because this gives me a few more weeks to plan and prepare and this way the baby will be the oldest in its class, rather than the youngest! I love the fall, and am glad to have a fall baby!!

So, we now know that starting this week I am 8 weeks, not 10 weeks. YAY! We have a lot to do before the baby comes. So, this helps out quite a bit!

All Wet!

So, here is a funny but quick story.
I am here at the house working and Cory took Zoey to the mall to hang out and do the daddy-daughter thing. Anyway, Cory calls me laughing and says, "Your daughter never ceases to amaze me."
I say, "What do you mean?"

Well, here is what happened. Cory had to use the bathroom, so he took Zoey into the family bathroom. Well, if you have never been in one, they have a little toilet for kids to use. So, Zoey sat down on the toilet and then fell inside the toilet. She then said, "All Wet, All Wet!!"

So Cory had to take her back out to the truck to change her clothes. Luckily I sent her PJ's with him just in case. Good thing!

Moral of the story, make sure when you use the family bathroom that your child does not fall into the toilet! Keep an eye on them. I must admit that at least she is getting the idea down, now if she would just learn to pull her pants down and use the toilet like we do!

Congratulations Cory!!

Cory recently applied for a Sales Rep position with Orbit Medical, well.....he got it!!! We are very excited, although he has until the 25th to accept the position. Of course, there are a few things we are a little nervous about, like oh...our insurance would not be effective until May 1. YIKES! That is a little scary being we are pregnant and all. BUT, I think Heavenly Father will make it work somehow for us.

We also have to buy a new car now, because they don't provide one. So, those are the only drawbacks to the position. This will be a very good opportunity for Cory to get into pharmaceutical sales. He can finally leave his much hated job at Honeyville Grains! YAY! I hope he doesn't get mad at me for announcing this to the world,
but I am proud of him and know he will do a great job!

CONGRATULATIONS CORY!!!

Sometimes you have to get your Hair Wet!!

The other day I was cleaning the bathtub and I always rinse the tub out after I am finished by turning on the shower and rinsing it that way. The next thing I know, I hear Zoey saying, "My Hair Wet!" I turned around and yes, that is exactly what she was doing. She was leaning over the tub getting her hair wet in the shower. I just thought it was funny and took some quick pictures. Sorry for the quality, I was hurrying.

Here she is right after pulling her head back from the shower, she did this numerous times.
She would put her head down and let all the water drain off her face, then.......
Back in the water her head went.

She thought she was so hilarious.

Afterwards, I got her a towel and she cuddled up on her Spongebob pillow.
She is a lot of fun, but a lot of work!! I have to be
thankful though,at least she has a lot of personality.
She definitely keeps me entertained on a daily basis.

Tired

Yesterday I got Zoey all ready so I could take her to the Provo library. When all was said and done, she was so tired and I knew it was going to be an interesting day at the library.

Notice her red, swollen, dazing eyes......she is definitely tired. This is the point when as the mom you think, "should I take her out? Or should I just stay home and put her down for nap?"
Yes, she was that tired. The littlest thing made her cry.

She even wanted to take some medicine so she could take a nap.
I have been giving her medicine before bed because she has a cold.
Luckily, everything turned out just fine. I took her to the library, she fell asleep on the way there, and it was so much fun. We got there just in time for the story time. They had a puppet show, singing time, and a story time. It was so much fun to watch Zoey interact with the other kids and sing with the teacher. It was a good day. I wish I would have brought the camera so I could have taken some pics, maybe next time.
If any of you are interested, they have that every Tuesday and Wednesday morning. So, let me know if you want to meet me there or something.

Yum Yum

A couple weeks ago Zoey and my nephew Teagon broke into my mom's gingerbread house and started eating. Zoey has been waiting a long time to eat this thing, each time we go to grandma's house, she would always look at it and try to take some off of it. AND, it finally happened for her.
Here she is again doing what she does best, EAT! It looks like she managed to get some of it in her hair! Way to go Zoey.

Don't Worry Be Happy

Yes, that is what we keep telling ourselves........
It all started when I was very tired for the last month or maybe even more. I mean, I am always tired, but I have been REALLY tired lately. I thought to myself, "well, it is true, I do have a thyroid problem." Well, as some of you may know, I work for the State Health Dept but only on a prn basis now. I do feel very fortunate to be able to work from the comfort of my home and be able to spend all the time with Zoey that she needs. However, one day, on the Friday after Christmas I was called in to work at our clinic in Provo. I was very happy to do this as I love to get out of the house and have a change. I had been really tired the WHOLE day and so before I went home around 5pm I decided I should start "ruling out" reasons why I have been so tired. So, I did what any person in the medical field would do, I took matters in to my own hands and took a pregnancy test to "rule that out." I mean come on, there was no way I could be pregnant. I am on "the pill." So, just to make sure, I took the test. I went about my business and continued getting ready to go home and then went into the lab to check the test and it said POSITIVE. I mean, it was practically blinking at me. At first I thought, "no, this must be wrong." So, I took another test, and another, and finally another, this time with blood. AND, it was positive on all four accounts. So, yes it is true, we are expecting another little baby in our household.
We are excited, but I must be honest and say that this is entirely different than when you plan theses things. Totally unexpected. I was very scared at first. Lots of thoughts came into my mind like finances, what will Cory think, where will we put the baby, when will I sleep, etc.
Anyway, here is our story. I am not sure the exact due date but it should be around August 15 if my calculations are correct. I can't get in to the doctor until Feb. 5, so no baby photos yet.
Don't worry be happy!!! That is my moto. Everything will be just fine! I will keep you posted and thanks for reading. :)

Our Little Artist STRIKES again

Well, our little artist has struck again. Zoey is getting really good at drawing on things she is not supposed to. As you know, she got an easel for Christmas with lots of markers to color with.

Above is Zoey coloring like a good girl on the easel, what the markers are intended for.
And now, once again she has managed to draw on just about everything she could think of. Notice the embarrassment on her face because she knows she is in trouble.
She managed to draw on the tub.
On the wall.
on the floor, and many other objects that I didn't get a picture of including the
toilet, door, and other walls throughout the house. Boy, she is a lot of work!

Christmas Morning at Home

We woke up Christmas morning at 8am, which was very nice of Zoey to let us sleep in. Zoey didn't quite know what to do when she walked into the frontroom to a room full of toys from Santa.

She immediately ran over to the Kitchen and played with it for awhile.
We convinced her to open some toys, and she loves that now she has her own cleaning supplies to help mom around the house.
Here is a picture of the night before Zoey was to come and destroy everything. It took us 2 and a half hours just to put the kitchen together.
Here is a close up of her new table and chairs, loaded with some gifts to open.
Here is her new kitchen that Cory' parents got her.
Here is the easel that Cory's parents got her.

Here is the picture that Cory got me. He surprised me with this. I absolutely love it. It doesn't do it justice on the blog, but, I do love it. I think it is very cute. Our friend Weston did a good job of taking the pics.

Christmas with the Dunns

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day with Cory's family. Zoey had a blast. Below are some of the pics from Christmas Eve.

Here Zoey is playing with her cousin Micah's Mr. Potato Head. We should have got her one.
Here is Zoey and Micah waiting for Santa to come for a visit.
Well, Santa came and Zoey was excited and surprised to see him. She was fine with him from a distance, but once I took her up to him to tell him how good she was this year, she wanted nothign to do with him. Sadly, it was Cory's dad that dressed up as Santa, so hopefully he didnt feel bad about the whole thing.
Here we are as a family sitting on Santa's lap.

And again, Zoey was fine after Grandpa came back to the party and Santa was gone. It was funny though, when Santa left, she kept saying. "wait, wait." She is funny.

Christmas with the Jewkes'

We started the Christmas celebration this year with my family. Zoey had a blast, of course. She was very spoiled and loved everything she got. I couldn't post all the pics because, well, that would take too long! So, I just posted some of her favorite things.

She absolutely loves this tool box. She goes around fixing things and hammering things.

Here she is organizing all the gifts that she is getting ready to open, she is so funny.

When Zoey opened up this ball, she said "a ball, a ball." she couldn't stop playing with it.
And, here are some cute slippers that match her mommy's. They are so cute.
