First Two Weeks

The first two weeks of Colston's life have been very fun and tiring for mommy! But, we do love having him here. Zoey absolutely adores him and wants to help with everything. She is a little rough and doesn't quite understand that she needs to be very gentle with him. It really doesn't seem to bother him much, he really only cries to let us know he is ready to eat.

We went to his two week appointment and he weighed in at 8 pounds 4 ounces. The doctor was surprised because he said they are usually excited when babies just make it back up to their birth weight. He has almost gained a whole pound since we brought him home. He really doesn't seem like a two week old, well now he is almost 3 weeks, but he is just growing so much. He is very alert and already very smart.

Zoey loves to sit by Colston and get their picture taken together.

Here is Colston's first bath given by mommy and his sister Zoey. Zoey helped by rinsing him off after we washed him with soap. She loves, loves, loves to help.
He seems so huge to me!

Here they are watching Dalmations in our bed. Colston was just crying because he wanted out of the picture. BUT, Zoey insisted that they get their picture taken on mommy and daddy's bed.
Here she is trying to calm him down. It is so cute, she will say, "It's okay baby, it's alright."
Big yawns.
Here is Zoey chillin on the couch listening to daddy's Ipod.
YES, we are very tired at our house. Colston first fell asleep on me, then Zoey came over and layed her head on me and fell asleep too! It was pretty funny. Now if I could just get some sleep!

He is Finally Here

Well, he is finally here. Yay!! Since we didn't get in on the 28th to get induced, we were bumped to September 1st. It was a really great day to have a baby. My room had big windows that looked out at the mountains and I loved laying there watching the rain outside. It was a really good day. BUT....since I had an extra weekend before the baby was coming, I decided I should take advantage and go have a mommy daughter day with Zoey. I am so glad I did this.

I took Zoey to Discovery Gateway and I am so glad I did. She had a blast. It was fun to just cater the whole day to her.
Here she is on the 3rd floor building something out of these sticks. I love Discovery Gateway because it helps kids learn how to use their imagination.
For lunch she wanted a corn dog so we went to the fountains with my sister and she ate her corn dog there.
Then finally the day had come. I was induced around 8:30 or so, I can't really remember the time. Colston Cory Dunn was born at 4:52pm and as cute as can be at 7 pounds 12 ounces. He is already so much fun and a really good baby.
Here we are as a family right after I had Colston. I don't like posting pictures of me because I look awful. I hate how having a baby makes you look and feel so puffy!
Zoey is so excited to have a brother. She loved him the minute she saw him. I love this picture because it shows her excitement.
Kissing little Colston. Zoey loves, loves, loves to give him kisses. It is cute.
Here she is at the hospital with my dad holding Colston.
Sound asleep.

Sleeping on Daddy.
First time in carseat...asleep.
Asleep in the swing.
Asleep on the couch.
Asleep, asleep, asleep. Yes, as for now, he is probably only awake for about 2 hours a day. All he does is sleep. Which I guess is nice for Zoey so she gets more time with Mommy.

I am doing really good, the delivery went very well. I am just really tired all the time.

No Baby Yet

Okay, I thought I should update you all on the baby news. No baby yet. Yes that is right, we were supposed to get induced on thursday the 28th but the hospital called that morning and said they were too full to get us in. I was very sad because of all the excitement of thinking we would be bringing little Colston into the world that day. They went ahead and bumped us to Monday...yep that rights, Labor Day. So, hopefully we get in that day and we will be posting pics of little Colston. Please keep your fingers crossed for us. We will keep you posted!!

And.....We're Back!!

So, as MANY of you may know, we have been without internet in our house for over a month. Thus, we have not been able to post anything on the blog. So, here is a "marathon post" catch ya up on what has been going on. There are many more, but these seemed to be most important to keep memory of. Here ya go!

We went up American Fork canyon with my mom and her dog Chopper. Zoey always has fun when we go up American Fork canyon. She loves to play in the water and get wet. Here are some more pics from the day.
Here is Cory attempting to walk in the water with Zoey, notice his face and how it shows how cold the water is. He didn't last long!
Out comes Cory and Zoey attempts to walk accross with my mom. I don't know how she did it, the water was really cold.

Here they are on the other side! They made it. She was very proud of herself.

And now, here are some pics clear back from the 4th of July. I can't believe I am just now getting to post them.

We went to visit Cory's family in Annabella and went to the parade in Richfield. I think Zoey's favorite part was when the horses would go by and the "princesses." She likes to wave to everyone that goes by.
Just taking a break eating some treats.
Here is Zoey with her cousin Micah watching a movie on Uncle Beau's portable DVD player.
And we ened the day at the park. Zoey had lots of Fun.
Okay, so here is Zoey's latest pass time. She likes to pull all of the cleaner from under the sink and she lines it up. She talks to them as if they are people and tells them where to stand. She has done this a few times and this particular occasion I decided to take some pics of it .

Here she is telling them which square they should stand on. She really has to think hard about where she wants each them to be. She is really funny to watch do this.
Showing mommy what she is playing with.
Lining them all up after they have been on the squares.

I think it is so funny that she does this. She is hilarious. I wish each of you could spend a day with Zoey just so you could see the real her. She is so much fun and has a great personality. She says the funniest things and is always making me laugh. I love her so much! I am just hoping that when her little brother comes this week that she will be accepting of him and show him the
happy girl she is!
Oh yes, by the way....I am supposed to be induced on the 28th as long as the hospital
isn't too busy! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

New Pool

Gosh, it's about time I post something!! I finally had a minute to sit down while Zoey was in the tub. PLUS, our internet has been acting weird and I haven't been able to get a connection.

Anyway, my mom got Zoey a new pool with a slide on it. My mom's neighbor's have one of the huge blow up pools with the slide and Zoey really wanted one, so she got the next best thing for someone her size. She loves the pool. It comes with a basketball hoop and everything. She has had a lot of fun with it so far. So, anyway, here she is playing in her new pool and enjoying the warmth of the summer sun. Meanwhile, I just try not to think about how hot I am. These last couple months will be killer I am sure!!

Here is Zoey eating her Fun Dip after a dive in the pool.
Here is a picture of the pool. I think it looks pretty fun.
Happy as can be in her pool. She is so cute and fun!
This is before we got the water in the pool.

Summertime is fun. Enjoy it while it lasts Zoey!!

One CRAZY Week

One crazy week it was. It all started about a two weeks ago, I think. I was at JC Penney with my sister and Zoey and all the sudden Zoey just threw up all over and had diarrhea all over. So, I was thinking to myself that it was just a 24 hour bug and she would be fine by the next. NOPE, it lasted a total of 7 days. Every night she would get worse and worse. Finally I took her to the doctor because I was afraid she was getting dehydrated, he seemed to think she was okay, but warned me to watch her closely. She had not urinated in about 16 hours, which really made me nervous. She was not keeping anything down. I tried popsicles, water, gatorade, everything I could think of to keep her hydrated.

Here she is eating a popsicle and wearing one of my shirts. She had thrown up on all of her pajamas so I had to go to the last resort. Besides, she loves wearing my T-shirts to bed.
Well, I decided to take her to the hospital on Wednesday morning because I just knew she was getting dehydrated. I was thinking they would put her on an IV for an hour and send us home. NOPE, that hour turned into 24 hours, which then turned into 3 days!!! Yes, poor little Zoey had to be in the hospital for 3 days. It was awful. She was such a trooper and did so good. All the nurses loved her and though she was the sweetest and cutest thing. I told them, just wait til she starts feeling better and you may change your mind!

She was so cute about her IV, she knew it was giving her fluid so she could go home soon. She even went to the bathroom on the toilet while she was in the hospital. She is getting so big.
Anytime someone came to visit she wanted them to hold her. Poor thing, you can see the sickness and boredom in her face.
This is after she put on some lipstick that Grandma gave her to use in the hospital while she was there. So pretty.
We were so excited when we finally got to leave the hospital. We had a trip planned to St. George that we were planning on leaving Wednesday night, we didn't get to leave until Friday after Zoey was released from the hospital. We left straight from the hospital to St. George. Zoey was great. There was a complete turn around once we got to St. George and she got to play.

We stayed in a condo in St. George with my brother and his family. Too bad it was in the 60's the entire time!! Just our luck! We had to entertain ourselves the best we could. Above is Zoey talking on the phone, or at least pretending anyway.
We took them to the park at the condos and Zoey had a blast on the swings. BUT, it was freezing so we didn't stay out there long.
We even attempted taking them swimming in the so called "heated" pool. They looked so cute in their swim suits and those yellow things.
Here is Zoey standing by the balcony one morning .
Zoey and Teagon on the balcony in the morning.

We went to Las Vegas one day and took the kids to the Mirage dolphin exhibit. I highly suggest that if you are ever in Vegas, you visit this place. The kids loved to see the dolphins. They have it set up so you can be as close to them as you want. Above is a picture of me and Zoey next a baby dolphin. It was so fun. Yes, I am getting the water weight already!! :(
Here is Cory and Zoey looking at some more dolphins.

We had to get a bite to eat. We went to the Hollywood __________, cant remember the name. It was more expensive than we thought. Just a regualar fountain drink was like $3.50! But the food was good.
More pics at the dolphin exhibit.
They were getting a urine sample from one of the dolphins and we got to watch. It was fun.

Here is Zoey and Teagon playing on our last night in the Condo. They had lots of fun.
In the car. I got to sit inbetween Zoey and Teagon everywhere we went. It was fun, I love both of them. I was amazed at how my nephew Teagon could entertain himself. Zoey just mostly fell asleep.

Here is a pic of the pool just outside the condo, that we NEVER got to swim in because it was too cold. Oh well, maybe next time.
Here we are in front of the condo getting ready to leave. It was fun. I am glad we went and had that little vacation. It was a LONG week and we needed the break from every day life. I hope we get to go again, but this time there will be sunshine and we can swim!!
